Asian Mentorship Program (AMP) Kickoffs at CAPA’s Lotus Awards

The nationwide Asian Mentorship Program (AMP) was announced today at the Lotus Awards, an event hosted by the Coalition of Asian Pacific American, which celebrates achievements in the Asian community. AMP will provide young professionals seeking training and development with mentors to foster relationships based on trust, truth, and compassion to nurture them as future industry leaders.

“Helping Asian and Asian Americans become leaders in their respective industries is critical to building a strong, visible platform for our community,” said Rainbow Yuen, founder of AMP. “A fundamental part of AMP’s vision is to teach young professionals the value and methods of fostering success. This program will go a long way to advancing that vision.”

The Asian Mentorship Program will work with private organizations and individuals to pair volunteer mentors with young professionals who are looking to expand their skill sets or interested in career exploration in different industries. The program is designed to last a year and will include opportunities for peer mentorship and networking events for industry leaders.

Mentors selected will be passionate individuals who care about their industry and have achieved notable success with a commitment to core values and integrity. They will be asked to serve as inspiring role models and friends through an ongoing, one-on-one relationship. The goal is to help young professionals set and meet goals, as well as, provide motivation and guidance. Together, mentors and mentees will leverage resources to gain exposure to new ideas, knowledge, and best practices.
